Executive performance →
Award-winning performance rehabilitation and a recognized expert in concussion exercise solutions — now taking a limited number of executive clients.
Ben Velazquez is a performance rehabilitation specialist and strength coach in New York City, Tampa and Puerto Rico, with more than 20 years working with elite performers, including athletes across the NFL, NHL and MLB. He is a co-contributing author of Fascia: Clinical Applications for Health and Human Performance, a licensed Soma-Therapist, a Posturologist and a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist.
He works with three groups: professional and developing athletes, time-poor executives, and people recovering from concussion. Every engagement begins with a free 20-minute intro call, and work is delivered virtually worldwide or in person in New York City, Tampa and Puerto Rico, in English or Spanish.

I repeat that mantra every time an athlete walks through the door.
My job as their strength coach is, above all, to bring a healthy athlete onto the field.
First, correct what isn’t right. Tune the engine. Structural balance is the priority.
Only then do we shift gears and focus on the qualities they need to raise their performance.
The line between therapist and strength coach has always been blurred. Today more than ever!
The challenge with every athlete is knowing how to combine the right dose of science, experience, and art into preparation built just for them.
That… is my specialty.
My passion has always been to empower my athletes! To give them the key tools that keep them on the field. To lower the risk of injury and make them better athletes.
With every rep, every set, and every drop of sweat… together we push to get better.
The weight room is our laboratory — it’s where we do the work that lets us thrive!
“Ben has been my personal trainer for over 20 years. He has keen intuition and an encyclopedic knowledge of the human body. He is an absolute savant at working remotely, a skill that very few trainers have been able to develop. At 82 years of age, I feel 20 years younger than that, in no small part due to Ben.”

“Ben Velazquez is one of the leading corrective exercise professionals in the world. It has been a pleasure to work with him for more than 15 years. I have witnessed his unique approach benefit a ‘who’s who’ of professional athletes across all sports, military personnel through our Operation Brain Health program, business leaders, young, developing athletes, and anyone recovering from injury or seeking to improve their performance. I recommend Ben in the strongest of terms.”

“Thanks to working with Ben, I’ve felt at my best physically over these last two years. Feeling what needs to get fixed and how to fix it quickly is something I’ve come to learn in that time. Getting the body into the proper form to perform at the level I want is tough for many athletes — and working with Ben has made it easier for me to do that.”

“The details in his programming take you from good to great. One of the best tools in my toolbox.”
“The best my body has ever felt. The daily ELDOA practice changed everything.”

“Working with Ben has been a game changer for me.”
“He’s helped me recover from serious injuries — and prevent the next ones.”
A look at the training itself — starting with sessions alongside Connor McDavid.
The same methods that keep professional athletes at the top now work for the leaders who run the rest of the world.

Short, practical thoughts on performance, recovery, and longevity — a new one every week.
The lumbosacral junction is where a spine that has stopped sharing work sends the bill. The L5-S1 ELDOA is the position I give more often than any other — and the one people most often perform as a stretch, which it is not.
Read the insight →Elite athletes periodize, recover and protect the body that earns them a living. Executives rarely do — and pay for it in their fifties. Here is how to apply an athlete’s training calendar to a career.
Read the insight →A long flight is hours in the worst posture you own, followed by a bed that isn’t yours. You can’t skip the travel — but ten focused minutes on landing undoes most of the damage before it settles in.
Read the insight →The executives who last aren’t the ones who train hardest — they’re the ones who recover on purpose. Recovery is a trainable skill with inputs you can control, not a reward for finishing the work.
